This unique, exhibition‑quality bonsai display slab is crafted from a single piece of spalted maple, chosen for its dramatic grain, natural spalting lines, and organic live‑edge contours. Both sides are sanded smooth to 220 grit and finished with Odie’s Universal Oil — a premium, food‑safe penetrating oil/wax that enhances depth and sheen while remaining easy to refresh over time.
Designed for bonsai display, this piece would also work beautifully as a charcuterie board, sushi serving board, or centerpiece. There is a 20 degree angle added to the sides to make it easy to lift. Either surface is suitable for display pending your preference. A butterfly key/bowtie inlay has been added to both sides to stabilize a crack and offer a dramatic flare.
Dimensions:
• Width: ~25.25”
• Depth: ~17”
• Thickness: ~1.25”
(Measurements are approximate due to the natural live‑edge shape.)
